Aside professional dog training and world-class dog breeding, Matthias is also a published writer and a public speaker. Over the course of Matthias’s career, he has published dozens of articles about animal health and animal behavior.

Television and Radio

  • In 1994 and in 1997, KSWO Channel 7, a local broadcasting network, recognized Zehfuss K-9 Training Center in a feature called, “Positively Texoma.” Positively Texoma highlighted small business with big influences.
  • From 1998 to 2001, KSWO Channel 7, a local broadcasting network aired spots featuring Matthias. The feature was called, “Pet Tips, ” and  offered professional dog training advice and dog training tips.

Newspapers

  • In 2011, the Lawton Constitution, a Lawton, Oklahoma newspaper, published an article on Matthias called, “Lawton’s dog whisperer.”
  • In 2002, the Lawton Constitution, a Lawton, Oklahoma newspaper, published an article on Matthias called, “Bits of hotdog used to train animals.”

  • From January 2002 to May 2002, Matthias wrote weekly articles for the Cobblestone Corner, a local publication.
  • In 2001, the Times Record News, a Wichita Falls, Texas newspaper, published an article on Matthias called, “Dog saved from death for rescue.”
  • In 1999, the Lawton Constitution, a Lawton, Oklahoma newspaper, published an article on Matthias called, “Teaching dogs obedience.” This article was eventually picked up the AP Wire Service and was distributed across the United States.
  • In 1993, the Lawton Constitution, a Lawton, Oklahoma newspaper, published an article on Matthias called, “Career goes tothe dogs.”
  • In 1992, The Daily Oklahoman, an Oklahoma newspaper, published an article on Matthias called, “Pupils leave lasting mark with dog trainer.”

  • In 1994, The National Diabetes Foundation published Matthias’s article, “Sugar Diabetes in Dogs.”
  • The “Sugar Diabetes in Dogs” article was so popular that it was discovered by Dog World Magazine. In 1995, he article was published in the popular, world-wide magazine.

Seminars

  • From 1989 to present, Matthias has presented numerous seminars on dog care and dog behavior to local schools, businesses and non-profit agencies.
  • In 1999, Public Service Co. of Oklahoma asked Matthias to conduct a seminar for the utility meter readers who frequently confront dogs on the job.

Books

Matthias is currently writing a book on animal behavior. Matthias expects to publish his book in the near future.
